How to Clean Fingerprints from Stainless Steel Fridge
Stainless steel appliances are beautiful but very hard to keep clean and shiny because fingerprints are very noticeable, and any stain of course. Stainless steel is very delicate, the protecting surface can be damaged easily and ruin the appearance
As a cleaning professional this is the method I use because is fast and the results are amazing
1- Clean with dish soap
2- Wipe away the soap
3- Dry completely
Here is the step by step instructions with pictures:
1- Mix a cup of water and a few drops of dish soap. That is the best we can use on stainless steel. Use a sponge to scrub the fridge. Never use a scouring pad, as it’ll scratch the steel and will ruin the appearance
2- Scrub softly following the grain of the steel, you will be able to feel it, remember use the sponge side of the pad
3- Wipe soap off fridge using a damp microfiber cloth always following the grain, fold it in four and use all sides, rinse and repeat, make sure no residue is left or it will show later
4- Dry fridge completely using a dry microfiber cloth, remove any residue left. Microfiber cloths are very absorbent and are great for this job, will dry and polish leaving a shiny surface
Enjoy the fantastic results! You will notice how stains that seemed impossible to remove now are gone! Here are some tips to keep your fridge looking this great
- Clean stains as soon as they appear, the longer the stay the harder to remove
- Never use scouring pads or steel-wool pads, they will scratch and damage the surface permanently
- Never use products containing vinegar, ammonia or chlorine bleach, they will damage the surface allowing the steel to rust
- Avoid the use of paper towels to dry the surface, it can scratch it. Some products to polish stainless steel will say to use paper towels, instead use a dry and clean microfiber cloth.
- Use a damp microfiber cloth for every day cleaning, always dry completely with a dry microfiber cloth to avoid stains
- If possible use a product designed to clean stainless steel appliances, like Weiman
